This was originally intended as an anecdotal genealogy website dedicated to putting a personality on those that have passed before, specifically those that I have heard stories about or even knew personally. But it has gradually changed to cemetery statuary, and as it was at first, featuring celebreties. For my personal links go to the end of the blog, Spencer G Corkum

the past is always here

On some headstones I notice a growing number wondering how life turned out to be so short.

we face death defining forever

.......from the portal this date, We all know that we.... are going to die someday but, and how some ever, not now, From my seat in the bleachers I notice no one, well before the ninth inning, seem able to field a ground ball they way they once did. Some of the old panache has lost its' former luster.

Everyone demands change when young but a sense of drastic change sneaks into the equation, slowly scaring one off when arrival activity actually shows up. It is often said one is lucky if you go thru this in your sleep. I do not know how they are so confident of this just because they assume a person was sleeping. Maybe not. Perhaps the process went on for some time. Placing your hand on a hot stove speeds time for you in fine fashion.

One factor suddenly rears its' head sooner than later. A strong heavy awareness that a lifetime is not very long. Is that all there was? An awareness of wasting time chews itself into the mind and if you are able to recall your viewing of Papillion, the film idea that life was a prision and we will soon be free does not compensate for all the time that slipped though the fingers of our memories.
