This was originally intended as an anecdotal genealogy website dedicated to putting a personality on those that have passed before, specifically those that I have heard stories about or even knew personally. But it has gradually changed to cemetery statuary, and as it was at first, featuring celebreties. For my personal links go to the end of the blog, Spencer G Corkum
This is a wonderful cemetery alongside the ocean in Puerto Rico. View photos of the Jose Ferrer memorial. These stones are quite elaborate. Apparently Ferrer's father designed it for his father and family, if my sources are correct, and depicts Jose Ferrer when he was fourteen. Ferrer himself was a famous actor with an impressive voice and presence. Among many other awards, he earned an oscar, and was in demand, acting right up until his death at 83 in 1992.
These memorial stones are for pets. Pet cemetery headstones can be more elaborate stones than one might think. I've seen what appears to be aluminum metal with black and white photo-like engravings etched on them. With the digital age color photo engraved stones etched directly and deep into the headstone itself are appearing more and more in many of their owner's cemeteries. I've not seen one but there are stones with photo-electric cells powering a memorial video which begins when someone approaches. Anything is possible.
