This was originally intended as an anecdotal genealogy website dedicated to putting a personality on those that have passed before, specifically those that I have heard stories about or even knew personally. But it has gradually changed to cemetery statuary, and as it was at first, featuring celebreties. For my personal links go to the end of the blog, Spencer G Corkum

There is a new day coming upon rising.

The spirit quickens the body...

The body  flourishes then wastes  away.  Sometimes  I wonder if the body can die, leaving the spirit to animate the body by itself. Eventually the older I get, sooner than I expect, I will walk alone. And in the end that is time for you, it always runs out for the flesh. In that day, I want to be ready for the next move. The next move is always mine.

Out of nothing...

....came the big bang. Isn't that something now? There is no time in eternity, it is generally agreed, what then makes us believe there is expanding space? What is seen all comes from the unseen. Some physical scientists suggest time is an allusion. Maybe space is too!

OK to die......

To build falth in the afterlife I believe in saying so. I always even repeat a person's name when introduced to help me remember it. Since it turned to be OK when I was born, I figure it will be OK to die.  However, I do not think it will be that OK right this particular second.

the past is always here

On some headstones I notice a growing number wondering how life turned out to be so short.

we face death defining forever

.......from the portal this date, We all know that we.... are going to die someday but, and how some ever, not now, From my seat in the bleachers I notice no one, well before the ninth inning, seem able to field a ground ball they way they once did. Some of the old panache has lost its' former luster.

Everyone demands change when young but a sense of drastic change sneaks into the equation, slowly scaring one off when arrival activity actually shows up. It is often said one is lucky if you go thru this in your sleep. I do not know how they are so confident of this just because they assume a person was sleeping. Maybe not. Perhaps the process went on for some time. Placing your hand on a hot stove speeds time for you in fine fashion.

One factor suddenly rears its' head sooner than later. A strong heavy awareness that a lifetime is not very long. Is that all there was? An awareness of wasting time chews itself into the mind and if you are able to recall your viewing of Papillion, the film idea that life was a prision and we will soon be free does not compensate for all the time that slipped though the fingers of our memories.

One avenue open to those grieving the loss of someone is to create a memorial page on the internet for them. See the link in the entry below for an example of memorial pages.

Time dies with us

Many people want to be remembered, want to exist, and they leave stones behind that will not attract vandals attention, just to make that statement.
Some do not want to be buried underground and they employ all kinds of above ground mausoleums to accomplish that desire. There are designs which are no larger than a single casket sitting encased in stone above the ground. All this, however, reveals an arrested spirit that resists leaving the body's cocoon behind.
